The Experience
In 1661 Nicolas Fouquet gave a party here so spectacular that the king had him arrested three weeks later. On summer Saturday evenings the château is lit by two thousand candles, and you understand at once why Louis XIV was jealous.
A private car collects you from your hotel. We arrive in the early evening for Le Vau's architecture and Le Brun's painted ceilings, then walk Le Nôtre's first great garden as the daylight goes and the candles take over.
Book a table at the château if you'd like dinner; your driver brings you back to Paris after the evening.
Route & Walking Info
- Distance: 2 to 3 km on foot

- Pace: Whatever feels good to you. We take breaks when we need them.
- Accessibility: If you need to avoid stairs or long walks, tell me before booking and I'll adapt the route.
Good to Know
- Meeting Point: Pick-up at your Paris hotel. I'll send a map link and very clear instructions once you book.
- Timing: Please be ready in your hotel lobby 10 minutes before pick-up.
- Dates: Candlelight evenings run on Saturdays in summer only. I'll confirm the year's dates before you book.
- Bring a layer: Evenings in the gardens can be cool.
- Shoes: Wear your most comfortable ones. Really.
- Bags: Keep them small; many sites have security checks.
- Late Arrivals: If you're late, it cuts into our time, but I'll make sure you still see the essentials.

FAQ
Is it really private? Yes. Just you, your group, and me.
Why only on Saturdays? The candlelight evenings only happen on Saturday evenings in summer.
Can we go by train? Not really: the last trains leave before the evening ends, so a private car is the only easy option.
Send me your dates and what you love most, and I'll shape the day around you.
