The Experience
This is Versailles without the "tourist conveyor belt." We have the whole day, so we aren't constantly checking our watches.
We start with the King’s Private Apartments. These rooms are normally off-limits, and they show you how the monarchy actually lived when they weren't on public display. From there, we’ll see the grand state rooms and the Hall of Mirrors.
After a break for lunch, we head out to the Gardens. We’ll walk down to Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet—it feels like a different world entirely. We’ll explore the little village she built to escape the palace life. I’ll help you see the details most people miss: the personal touches, the politics of the time, and the transition from the grand to the intimate.
Good to Know
- Meeting Point: We’ll meet in Versailles—I’ll send you the exact spot.
- Timing: We start in the morning to get the best of the light. Be 15 minutes early!
- What to wear: Smart-casual is fine, but the most important thing is your shoes.
- Weather: We adjust the garden portion if it rains, but most of the highlights are indoors.
- Tickets: I’ll advise you on the best ticket combination once you book.

FAQ
Are the private rooms really secret? They aren't secret, but they are generally locked to the public. You need a guided visit to see them, which is what we’ll do.
How much walking is it? It’s a lot—about 6–10 km. But we take the whole day and stop for a proper lunch.
Do we see the Hall of Mirrors? Of course. It’s part of the standard flow.
